i have found this book to be very helpfull identifying small block chevy engines of which is nesasary when trying to rebuild one.
out of three engines that i was told were 350 they all turned out to be 305s instead. so the book more than paid for itself just by verafying that the engines were the wrong size blocks.

I haven't found any single book that covers all the codes/casting marks/engine numbers but this one is a great read and certainly gives you an advantage when looking for "Rare" parts or just "Good" parts in general.

One of the best reference books you'll ever use either sitting at the computer or wandering a swap meet. No more guessing about a part that a vender tells you "Yes, this part is the one for you" only to get it home and find it's wrong. Easy to read and quick to find a number. You'll end up needing another one as I did from over use.
